Dr. Weiss graduated from the California School of Professional Psychology - Alameda in 1995. Pre-doctoral clinical training included treatment of adolescents in a sub-acute residential program at Children's Hospital in San Francisco, crisis evaluation and treatment at Mount Zion Crisis Clinic in San Francisco, and Neuropsychological Assessment at Laguna Honda Skilled Nursing Facility. In addition, she completed internships at Kaiser Outpatient Psychiatry Department in San Francisco and at Atascadero State Hospital. She was a staff psychologist at Atascadero for two years and worked at the Conditional Release Program (CONREP), Los Angeles for two years.

She was employed by the California Department of Mental Health conducting evaluations and providing court testimony as needed in the assessment of sexual offenders. She also provided and coordinated training for a panel of contractors as well as supervising their clinical work.

Currently, Dr. Weiss maintains a private practice in criminal forensic psychology in Sacramento and surrounding areas and conducts pre-employment psychological screenings for public safety applicants including peace officers.
