Dr. Nechia DeKryger is a registered psychologist in Vancouver who specializes in the assessment and treatment of anxiety, stress, and mood disorders in adults, adolescents, and children. She practices Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a skills-based approach that has been found to be effective in the treatment of anxiety and mood disorders.
Dr. DeKryger received her doctoral degree from the University of Louisville (Kentucky, USA) and completed a year-long fulltime pre-doctoral residency in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy through Vancouver Coastal Health Authority. During her residency, she received specialized training in the delivery of empirically supported treatments for anxiety disorders at the Anxiety Disorders Clinic at the University of British Columbia. She also completed clinical training rotations at the Eating Disorders Program at St. Paul’s Hospital and in inpatient psychiatry at Vancouver General Hospital. She has received clinical training in Anxiety Disorder Clinics in both the US and Canada.
