I have worked and studied in Psychology and Mental Health since I started college back in 1973. I obtained a BA in Psychology (Oberlin College 1977), a MA in Community Counseling (Hood College 1980), and a Master's Level Credential in School Psychology and Counseling (University of Washington 1985), all on the way to a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at California School of Professional Psychology--Berkeley/Alameda Campus (1992). In those 35 years (time flies), I have worked in a number of different professional "worlds," including in-patient psychiatric hospitals, post-acute head injury rehabilitation, home visits with families with a disabled member, prison and jail settings, college counseling, out-patient mental health clinics, and private practice. I have enjoyed the variety and learning opportunities which each of these environments has provided, and I continue to enjoy variety in my practice (including doing some forensic work as it arises).

At this point, I am particularly interested in helping people with many things which affect them and also matter to me. This includes issues ranging from relationships (especially couples work and parenting), to school and work, to health and situational factors, to personal development and personal growth. I am eclectic in approach, and so am available to help clients in a variety of ways. At the same time, I notice that I am gravitating toward Gestalt and related experiential methods, which focus on spending more time and creating change in the present moment.
