I received my Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology at Indiana University –Bloomington, Indiana. During my doctoral program I received specialized training in counseling for families with relationship problems and adolescents with behavioral problems. During my pre-doctoral and post-doctoral training I have gained additional experience in working with survivors of abuse and addiction issues. I moved to Pennsylvania in 2007 and am pleased to be providing services to adults, adolescents and families in Blair county and surrounding areas.
In my work, I strive to help my clients to understand the behavioral and relational patterns underlying the presenting problem. As such, my theoretical orientation is integrative in nature and includes family systems theory, cognitive behavioral approaches and humanistic ideals. Through developing a common understanding of the pattern of thoughts/behavior that maintains one's current struggles, I work with clients to develop more adaptive ways of thinking about themselves and the world that will result in the desired changes one wishes to make in their life.
