In 1982, I graduated with a Ph.D. degree in clinical psychology from the University of South Dakota (APA approved). As part of my doctoral training, I completed a clinical internship at the Colorado Mental Health Institute (CHMI)at Fort Logan in Denver, Colorado, which was also approved by the American Psychological Association. The internship included rotations on the children, adolescent and adult units. Following the internship, I worked for two years as a staff psychologist on the inpatient adolescent unit at the CMHI.
In 1984, I accepted a position as program consultant and outpatient clinic coordinator at Serendipity Diagnostic and Treatment Center in Citrus Heights, Ca. Two years later, I started my independent practice in Roseville, Ca. In my practice, I provide psychotherapy for children, adolescents, adults, families and couples. Prior experience also includes work at a neurological and pain clinic, in a program for autistic and developmentally delayed children, in an inpatient adolescent substance abuse program, and as a community organizer in a racially segregated community in Chicago, Ill.
I am a member of the American Psychological Association and have publications and presentations at professional conventions in the areas of attention deficit disorder, child abuse, anger management/assertiveness training and developmental disabilities.
