Jason Frizzell, Ph.D. completed a Ph.D. in psychology at Texas Tech University, and completed an APA-approved internship and forensic psychology postdoctoral fellowship at the Center for Behavioral Medicine (formerly, the Western Missouri Mental Health Center) in Kansas City, Missouri. He has experience in direct care of mentally ill inmates, and policy and programmatic development while he was employed as a psychologist in the Arizona Department of Corrections. He worked with all levels of inmates, from minimum custody to death row inmates.
In 2012, Dr. Frizzell returned to forensic work, and was employed full time by the Maricopa County Competency Evaluation Program until 2017. He now operates a full time private practice in the Mesa/Gilbert area of the East Valley, conducting evaluations for competency to proceed/stand trial and restoration cases (Rule 11 of the Arizona Rules of Criminal Procedure). He also enjoys clinical evaluations, supervision, and engaging in teaching opportunities.
