I am a licensed Geropsychologist in private practice in Sacramento since 1985. A graduate of Yale University, I completed my doctorate in clinical psychology at University of California, Davis. I am past President of Sacramento Psychological Association (SVPA) and current President of the SVPA Forensic Division. I am an active member of the Section of Geropsychology, Division of Cinical Psychology of the American Psychology Association (APA), and of Psychologist in Long Term Care (PLTC), for which I am a past editor of their newsletter. I am a national adviser to the APA Task Force on Mental Capacity Evaluations and I have published a variety of articles on Mental Capacity Evaluations, Elder Abuse, and Dementia Care. I am also a founding member of the Sacramento County Financial Abuse Specialist Team and Elder Death Review Team.

As an ElderCare Adviser to social service, law enforcement, legal, and health care professionals throughout California, I consult and train those serving elders. Over the years, I have lectured and trained a range of audiences as diverse as the California District Attorneys Association, Peace Officer Standards and Training, Adult Protective Services,California Association of Area Agencies on Aging, Legal Assistance for Seniors, Kaiser Permanente, University of California Medical School. My programs have been well received and I am often described as an energetic, comprehensive, and entertaining trainer of value by participants.

Advocating for the best interest of elders is my top priority. I approach complex personal and professional ElderCare problems in a direct, practical manner. I have developed a brief Assessment and Treatment Planning protocol consistent with National Standards for the ElderCare challenges of Depression, Dementia, Caregiving, Successful Aging, and Memory Care. I welcome the opportunity to be your guide through the maze of managing the multiple needs of the elders you care for and for yourself.
