My career as a counselor began at Stanford's counseling center in 1960, and I have been fortunate to have known and worked with so many people over the years. I am a licensed clinical psychologist with an MA from Stanford University and a PhD from Adelphi University. My training covers a broad spectrum of treatment approaches, including psychoanalytic psychotherapy, family and marital systems, sex therapy, Gestalt therapy, medical hypnosis, primal therapy, and EMDR.
I especially enjoy couples counseling which is based in my love for helping people overcome their hurt, disappointment, and upset. My work is rooted in the daily experience of keeping my own marriage of 35 years alive and growing. Nancy and I have raised four children together, are blessed with four grandchildren, and through it all are still in love. Helping people learn the skills to find and sustain happiness is greatly satisfying
to me.
