Dr. Laurenti has over 25 years of experience providing therapy and assessment services to clients of all ages. She received her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the University at Albany, State University of New York. She is fully licensed as a psychologist in both New York and North Carolina.
Before founding Laurenti Psychological Services, P.C. in 2007, Dr. Laurenti worked in a variety of mental health settings, building experience in a wide range of clinical interventions. Her past work has included positions in inpatient hopsitals, community clinics, government agencies, and as the director of student services at a community college.
She has co-authored several research articles in scholarly journals, and presented her research at national and regional conferences. As a clinician, Dr. Laurenti combines a variety of techniques that are supported by research, such as cognitive-behavioral approaches and the meditation/mindfulness techniques of dialectical behavioral therapy.
