I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Master's degree from Duquesne University. My experience is with alcoholism, addiction, anxiety, depression, borderline personality disorder and self-harm issues.

I believe a trusting relationship is essential to the counseling process. I believe honesty is the first step toward recovery. I believe my clients feel they can be completely honest with me because I am non-judgmental and open-minded. I am completely present for my clients. I really listen to what my clients say. I explore how my clients feel and help them find ways to cope with difficult emotions. I help my clients understand their behavior and find ways to change unhealthy or counterproductive behavior.
Services
Sessions are 45 to 55 minute long. I offer individual, couples and family counseling. I use a Humanistic approach with techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Interviewing. I try to make the process of therapy fun with humor and metaphors.

I understand the process of addiction recovery. Addiction clients often struggle with ambivalence, both wanting to stop and yet not wanting to stop their addiction. As long as a client is completely honest, I can help them find the motivation to embrace recovery.

Available by appointment only. However, I will offer a 10 to 15 minute free consultation prior to your first appointment if requested. I accept several major insurances such as Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield, Optum, Cigna and Medicaid. Please call to see if I can take your insurance. Due to the complicated nature of insurance, I can verify your insurance prior to your appointment and let you know if you have a co-pay or deductible. I do accept private pay clients.
