Michael Scott Allen, Psy.D., Licensed Clinical Psychologist in the states of Texas and California, specializes in assessment and diagnosis of children with Autism-Spectrum Disorders (ASD). Dr. Allen earned his doctoral degree at the Georgia School of Professional Psychology Dr. Allen has clinical experience with children with autism and related conditions for 5 years as a consultant, therapist,researcher, and diagnostician. Dr. Allen currently runs the Diagnostic and Assessment Clinic at the Center for Autism and Related Disorders (CARD) Austin office. Having completed many assessment batteries of children with various developmental and emotional difficulties, Dr. Allen specializes in the cognitive, educational, and developmental assessment of children with ASD. Research interests include the development of comprehensive tools to assess children within the autism spectrum and program development for the unique social difficulties of high-functioning children within the Autism spectrum.

Office Information:

At the CARD Diagnostic Clinic and Assessment Clinic, we charge an hourly rate for all testing, observation, and report writing. Please contact Dr. Allen by phone or email for further details. We do not bill insurance directly for assessments; however, we provide families with the necessary billing and diagnostic codes to request reimbursement from insurance companies. Many families have been successful in obtaining partial or complete reimbursement for CARD assessments.
